Meet Mr. Mascola

Hello GCS Community!  I am super excited to be a part of the GCS family and I am really looking forward to collaborating with everyone to make the 2019-2020 school year as exciting, challenging, rewarding, and fun-filled as possible.

I am a lifelong Connecticut resident.  I grew up in Branford, CT and have lived in Guilford, CT for the past 20 years along with my wife Gloria and our two sons, Nicholas and Vincent as well as our dogs Bella and Cocoa.  I am an avid sports, reading, and music fan and play guitar in a rock band in my free time. I love the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Uconn Huskies and enjoy landscaping, exercising, and spending time with my family and four-legged furry friends.

I have been in education for the past 15 years and have taught in grades 2-6.  Prior to teaching, I held a variety of marketing and sales roles in the sports apparel and packaging industries.  In one of those roles, we started a mentoring outreach program in conjunction with New Haven Public Schools and that experience motivated me to transition to the education field.

In my short time here, it is quite evident that that GCS is a vibrant, collaborative community with incredible stakeholder support and one where everyone truly cares about the academic and social-emotional well being of the student body.  I will do my best to positively contribute to the GCS culture and I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions or concerns that you may have.

Thank you in advance for your support and best wishes for a fantastic 2019-2020 school year!
