Dougherty Center for Early Learning /PreK

Welcome to the Dougherty Center for Early Learning—where the littlest discoverers, problem solvers, and inventors quench their own natural curiosity on a wondrous path of learning. A gently structured curriculum advances all areas of each child’s development with age-appropriate activities that support cognitive, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical growth. Every day is accompanied by our faith in God and infused with Catholic values.

This safe and loving introduction to school blends small and large group activities—both planned and self-directed—with scheduled quiet time, giving children multiple learning environments in which to launch their GCS education. Attention is given to specific emergent language and motor skills, so children are always progressing and readying themselves for something new. In addition to the daily curriculum, preschool children also benefit from many of GCS’s enrichment classes including gym, music, Spanish, art, and library.

Because this is a new adventure for parents as well as for students, teachers communicate regularly with families, so you always know how your child is doing. We welcome your partnership as we get to know your child as a person and as a student. By the end of PreK-4, GCS preschoolers are enthusiastic learners, ready for kindergarten and the next building blocks of their educational foundation.
