hello my name is Ryan smart I'm the physical education teacher here at Greenwich Catholic school I teach grades Pre-K 3 to 4th grade kindergarten to 4th grade the week we see the Pre-K is once a week Pre-K 3 Pre-K for kindergarten a portion of the year in first grade we are really stressing the body the movement how we can use our bodies to move in space what can we do with running jumping hopping we incorporate music as we get older we start incorporating some equipment 3rd and 4th grade we start introducing game Concepts how we can use those equipment those pieces of equipment those instead we learned in our younger years put them together start building the foundation to build up the team Sports Fit 678 social social aspect in our class is really big how can we interact with others in a kind and Safeway one of the things that I really try to stress with the kids is you don't have to be the best at all of the things that you do but you do have to give maximum effort you have to be trying your best giving your best effort and always being safe and kind if you ask your kids what are the two things that I find most important are you playing in a Safeway and are you being kind to your teammates and your friends at the end of the day we're not going to remember whether we won or lost our second activity but we remember how to move safely how to play with our friends take turns using the equipment safely I know when I was a kid physical education was one of the highlights I look forward to it trying to build that way you guys have them come get a break from class B academics but here they're still learning still learning to come up here play these games use the equipment play with their friends and a kind and Safeway if you ever have any questions feel free to reach out we have the email here at school you can give me a call I'll see you out in the parking lot anything I can do to help your child have a great day at school Mr rocket self we're here for them we love these guys we want to try to get them active and having fun but first they have to be safe and they have to be kind again I'll see you throughout the year have a great one those DCs
