SPANISH WORK PACKAGE WHILE GCS IS CLOSED

The package is organized intending for the work to be done on a daily basis: Each day has an average of two one-sided pages of work. It comprises mainly vocabulary exercises from the wordlist we began to cover this week and a review of “-er” and “-ir” verbs. The topic relates to breakfast and lunch vocabulary.

There are ten days work in the package. Students should start working today, Friday March 13th, with “Día uno”, and must complete a day of work corresponding to each day of regularly scheduled Spanish class. They have four classes a week, so they ought to work on Spanish four days per week during the school closure. If the school does not open after two weeks, I will contact students to set up a goggle classroom and provide them with additional work.

The work should take an average of 30 minutes to complete. However, since students have different competence levels in the language, some may take more or less time to complete the exercises.

Students must turn in the completed work.  They should send me scanned or photo versions of the completed exercise sheets to [email protected] by the end of the corresponding day. Starting Monday 16th of March any work not received by the end of the day will be considered late and points will be deducted. Also, same as in class, I will not receive late work past the first Friday from the date it was assigned

Students must turn in all late homework. I take the opportunity to mention that several students have not turned in all their homework assignments. I have spoken with each to let them know what they owe. I encourage you to check in the portal to verify if and what they may be missing.

Originally, I had asked them to be turned in the late assignments by today. In light of the extraordinary circumstances, I will extend the deadline to next Friday, March 20th. This work can also be sent to me through email. I will not accept late work corresponding to the third quarter after this date.

I will hold office hours from 9-11:30 am Monday-Friday. During that time, I can be reached via email to answer any questions about the work. Concerns outside office hours will be answered within the following 24 hours.

Quizlet "Direcciones"

The "Direcciones" vocabulary assignment was given on Thursday, January 30th and was due Thursday, February 6th.

All weekly Quizlet assignments consist of creating a vocabulary list and completing exercises. Students are given a class hour to do their work. If the student does not finish his work during class time it becomes homework.  Each student should create his own list. No one should use a classmate's list to do their exercises. Each student should master the "learn" exercise, should get 100 in their "test" exercise and should at least do one "match" game. Quizlets are graded as homework!

Many have not handed in their assignment. For those who haven't, I will be accepting late work until Tuesday, February 18. The first day of class after the break. Work not summited by this date will receive a 0.

BINDERS

Due 1/24/2020

Students who haven’t done so already, turn-in your binders so I can record the respective grades before Friday. Binders count a non-trivial portion of your grade. I will not be receiving binders or any late work after Friday 1/24.

Please not that if I am not in the classroom you may leave your binder, for me to review it, on my desk.
