French grade 8

Course Description

The aim of grade 8 in French is to have the students acquire a further understanding and appreciation of the language and culture through exposure to spoken French and hands-on activities. Additionally, the students will be given more opportunities to work independently, as well in small groups, to facilitate a personal growth of their language skills and enhance their critical thinking skills. Recognizing that the students are in a continuous process of cognitive development, I design the language tasks appropriately for their ability level.

The 3rd term's unit on Senegal (the northwest of Africa) will culminate with a unit test on  3/20/20. Topics covered:chores, the verbs-"pouvoir" and "devoir", the passe compose of "IR" and "RE" verbs, negative expressions, vocabulary with the house and furniture, the verbs- dormir, sortir,partir in the present tense, the passe compose with "etre" and making comparisons and building communities.
 
A review packet will be posted closer to the time of the test, but continue to practice with your on-line resources. Bonne chance!
