**It is going to be very cold this week. Make sure your child has a fleece or sweater to wear in the classroom. Long sleeves should be worn and the girls should have leggings on under their jumpers to keep them warm.

*We have an early dismissal on Friday, November 16th. Please pack your child a snack. Chef Bob is not serving lunch. There are no afters. Aftercare is available until 3pm.

 

*It is getting very cold outside! Please make sure your child has a proper jacket, gloves, hat, etc. for recess. A GCS fleece is not a proper jacket!

 

*Remember to pack a snack and a drink for your child every day. 

 

*Looking ahead: We have a 12pm early dismissal on Wednesday, November 21st. There are no afters or aftercare that day.

*We are in need of Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer in our classroom. Help us kill germs and stay healthy! Thank you in advance!

 

*Please make sure your child has proper outer wear (coat, hat, gloves, etc). It is getting cold!

*Please make sure you are looking through and emptying your child's folder every night.

 

*Keep sending in box tops in a baggie labeled "Ms. Hansen's Class". 

 

* Make sure all your children's clothing is labeled with their name. Almost everyone is the same size and sweaters sometimes get mixed up. 

 

Homework for the week of October 15th-19th

 

 

*We will be going to mass at 9am on Tuesday. You are welcome to join us. Students can wear their regular uniform. 

 

*We are going to the book fair on Tuesday. If you are sending money in with your child, please make sure they have it in a baggie labeled with their name and "Book Fair". 

 

*Please make sure your child's name is on their sweatshirt, sweater, and fleeces. A lot of us are the same size!!!!

 

*Remember to pack a healthy snack and water for your child every day. 

 

*As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child has a coat. 

 

*Winter uniform has started. Please check the website to make sure your child is wearing the right uniform. Leggings are worn under the jumper and cannot be worn by themselves. No more shorts. 

Homework for October 8th-12th

 

Thursday, October 11th is picture day. Students need to be in their FULL DRESS UNIFORM. If you are ordering pictures, please have your student return the picture form on Thursday.

 

*We have the living Rosary on Friday at 10am. Please have your child bring in his/her Rosary if they have one. Please make sure it is in a baggie labeled with their name.

*Full Dress uniform for Friday for First Friday mass at 10am.

 

*Friday, October 5th is an early dismissal. We will be at the statue around 11:45am. Lunch will not be served. Please pack a snack for your child. There are no afters on Friday. Aftercare is available until 3pm. If you need to use aftercare, please pack your child a lunch that is 100% nut-free.

*Students will be having their first spelling test this Friday. Please make sure you are reviewing their words with them every night. The spelling test consists of their spelling words, sights words and 2 dictation sentences. They are allowed to use the word wall in our classroom to help them spell their sight words. 

 

-Read your words aloud

-Have a parent quiz you on your spelling

-Rainbow write your words

-Write your words 2x each without looking

 

 

Homework for September 10th-14th 

 

Sight words are located at the top of your child's homework sheet in their homework journal. 

When doing homework, only complete the homework assigned for that night. DO NOT GO AHEAD. You can find a copy of their homework sheet in their homework journal. Make sure to sign the homework sheet every night. 

 

Weekly Reminders:

-First Friday mass is this Friday at 10am. 

-Make sure you look through and empty your child's homework folder every night. 

-Book Bins are due on Friday

-Remember to pack water and an afternoon snack for your child every day. 

-If your child's dismissal changes, please let me know.
