Create your vocabulary list of chapter 8A. Call it CAPITULO 8A 
The list is comprised of the vocabulary of page 246 (56 terms) and page 337 (23 terms). Total 79 terms
With your vocab list do the following exercises::

Write a letter to someone about a gift  you bought for a mutual acquaintance.


Use the example in the book as a guide however, DO NOT copy it. DO NOT just change the gift, the price, the friend, the place. I am looking for MORE information than that presented in the example.


You can  use the following questions to help you organize the information:


¿Para quién es el regalo? ¿Cuál es tu relación con esa persona? ¿Es tu amigo o tu familiar? ¿Qué me puedes contar de esta persona y de las cosas que le gustan?
¿Qué compraste?  ¿Por qué lo compraste? Crees que le va a gustar? ¿Crees que lo necesita? ¿Crees que lo va a usar mucho? 
¿Qué piensas del regalo? ¿Crees que es genial, divertido, práctico etc.?
¿Dónde lo compraste?  ¿Cuándo lo compraste? ¿Cuánto pagaste? 
¿Cuándo es la fiesta? ¿Dónde es la fiesta? ¿Cómo va hacer la fiesta? ¿Quién organiza la fiesta?
Also, there are several way to star and end a letter. Remember greetings and signoffs  depend on who you are writing to. Maybe you should do some research on the different ways you can do it in Spanish.
You will be graded according to the book's rubric.

Write a short story using as a starting point one of the four pictures on pg 195 of her textbook. The story can be as imaginative as you want it to be but you MUST use the "Préterito perfecto" ( past tense) to tell the story. It should be at least 6-8 sentences long and should include vocabulary from the chapter.

1. Draw a floor plan of your perfect mall. Be neat and creative. (7pt) Include, with all the standard amenities a mall has, the stores listed in part 1 of the exercise.
2. Invent cool names in Spanish for each store. Again, be creative. (3pt)
3. Wright 10 questions using the terms in part 2 of the exercise. (5pt) Pls neat handwriting (because of autocorrecting no typing)
-Use question word like ¿dónde?, ¿adonde, ¿para qué?, ¿por qué? ¿cúal? ¿con quién? ¿cuánto? etc. You can ask about the location of a store, about their
prices, how to get there, why would one want to go there, etc.
-Questions should be different (do not be repetitive, do not do: ¿Dónde está la tienda....?, ¿Dónde esta el restaurante...?, ¿Dónde están los baños?,)
4. Write the answers to your questions. (5pt) Answers should be full sentences (Subject, verb, predicate). Again, pls neat handwriting

                    El restaurante esta detras de la zapateria, alado dela libreria.

You have a budget of 800 euros for an outfit. You will look through the store’s online catalog and put together an outfit you would like to purchase if you had that money. Once you have your outfit write about it.

First, write for what sort of occasion or activity you are looking to buy that outfit for. What the occasion requires. For example, if it’s a formal event you might need your outfit to be elegant, or if it’s a job interview you might need it to be serious, or if it’s a sporting event you might need it to be comfortable.

Then you should describe the outfit. Use several adjectives in your descriptions. For example; material, color, length, texture, designer, etc. Also include the price.

Don’t forget that when writing about your choices you have to use your vocabulary words and especially the verbs comprar, preferir and querer all conjugated appropriately.

Since you are not shopping alone, (you are doing it with a friend) you should also write about your friend’s comments to your choices. What he/she thinks about the outfit, what he/ she thinks of how it fits you, of what he/she thinks of its price, etc…

You will need to present with your homework a collage of images of the items you have chosen.

You do NOT need to write about your parent’s preferences as I mentioned in class.

Yo estoy buscando ropa para un baile de graduación. El baile es una ocasión muy formal. Necesito un vestido elegante. El Corte Inglés tiene muchos vestidos de fiesta. Yo quiero un vestido corto, negro, sin mangas, con un lazo blanco en el hombro. Es de la marca Green Coast y cuesta 49.99 euros.

También necesito unos zapatos para el baile. Yo quiero unas sandalias de tacón. Quiero comprar las sandalias de Chie Mihara en color negro con plataforma. El precio de las sandalias es de 285 euros. Necesito un bolso- Me gusta el bolso de mano pequeño de Furla de piel de becerro que cuesta 355 euros. También me gustaría unos pendientes Swarovski que están con el 20% de descuento y cuestan 143,20 euros. En total la ropa que quiero llevar a la fiesta me cuesta 833.20 euros.

Mi amiga Marisabel piensa que el vestido que me gusta está muy bonito y cuesta poco. Piensa que me puede quedar muy bien. Ella piensa que los zapatos son hermosos, pero demasiado caros. Ella piensa que llevar un bolso es innecesario. A Marisabel le encantaron los pendientes y ella quiere unos iguales para llevarlos a una cita con su novio.

Read through the guided notes. Highlight/underline important formulas. Complete the Hagan Ahora translations and write 10 quality sentences comparing fast food as instructed on sheet. Do not use Google Translate!

1. Draw a layout of your room and label in Spanish. Use your 6A vocabulary notes and include the definite article. You must have a minimum of 10 items labeled.
2. Write a paragraph to describe your room. Include colors, adjectives, location, etc. You must have a minimum of 5 sentences.

Use textbook p. 122 to handwrite the 6A vocabulary words in English and Spanish. Do not submit on Google Classroom. Work will be checked in class.

Study the verbs venir, ser and estar. Don't forget to study the rules and acronyms as well!

1. Fill-in each sentence with the correct form of ser or estar. After, write the rule on the line.
2. Translate each sentence to English.

Use textbook p. 90 to handwrite the 5B vocabulary words in English and Spanish. Do not submit on Google Classroom. Work will be checked in class.

Sentences should not be typed on the visual portion of this project. You should only include the name and relationship of each family member. Be creative! Make sure to follow the instructions and example from the handout. The visual is due on Google Classroom by Friday and presentations will take place Monday-Tuesday of next week.

2. Study the conjugations and uses of tener covered in class, paying special attention to the formula for obligation.
3. Study the possessive adjectives and rules on agreement.

1. Record yourself reciting the Spanish alphabet using Vocaroo. You can use my slides to make sure you don't skip any letters!
2. After reciting the alphabet, spell your name phonetically as practiced in class. For example: Paniagua = Pe-a-ene-i-a-ge-u-a.

Make sure to listen to your audio for clarity before submitting! You might want to practice recording a few times. Buena suerte.

1. Continue to review "El Alfabeto" using my slides and the attached video. THINK: What letters are missing from the video that are unique to the Spanish alphabet? Make sure to practice the sounds verbally. You will have to recite the Spanish alphabet individually and spell out your full name for a grade next week.
2. Please handwrite and review my slides titled "Tener" if you missed any portion of the live class session. Complete the translation practice that is included in the slides and in the attached video. Make sure to pause the video, write down your answers, and then continue to play the video to check your answers.

Please review the attached sheet (El Alfabeto) given in class today. Practice the pronunciation of each letter using the attached Google Slides as well. Goal: You will need to be able to recite the alphabet in Spanish for a quiz grade (date TBD).

We worked on phonetic spelling in class today. For example: jueves = jota - u - e - ve - e - ese

Based on the above example, try spelling these words phonetically, in Spanish:
