Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is the week of May 8! 
3B is going at 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 as a class to the book fair if students wish to purchase books then or make a wish list.

Wednesday, April 19

- Students must go to bed earlier Tuesday, April 18
- Students must arrive at school by 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday for our Symphony field trip. The bus leaves at 8:30a.m.!
- FULL DRESS UNIFORM on Wednesday!

Welcome back!

I hope everyone had a relaxing vacation! The homework for the week is posted if students want to get a head start on their IXL math homework, Kids A-Z reading or Series book report. 11's quiz on Friday.

During Spring Vacation...

- Practice 11's times tables (Quiz Friday, April 21)
- Read your book and work on your April Series Book Project
- Practice writing in cursive
- Have a relaxing vacation and enjoy time with family!

The link to sign up for spring conferences on Thursday, April 20 or Friday, April 21 will be available starting on April 15.

Book Project Choices

Update: The students have seen the possible book choices and wrote down their top picks today for their Series Book Project. Starting on Wednesday, April 5, students may start getting their book and reading it. 

2017 Battle of the Books Winner

For our "March Madness", we did a Book Bracket starting with our "Sweet 16" of 16 books, to Elite 8, to Final Four and the Championship. The winner is the book Pippi Longstocking

April 7 is also a spelling test and FULL DRESS uniform for Mass.

IXL Showdown Contest Starts April 1

I signed our class up for the annual IXL Showdown! During the month of April, students' IXL assignments go toward the contest. The top classroom in the country with the most amount gets a pizza party. The third graders can do IXL third grade or below. 

Students were given a checklist of all the assignments their Writer's Notebooks must have for Quarter 3 on Wednesday, March 29. They also had time to work on it in class. Any extra work will have to be done at home. It is due Friday, March 31.
Their Pippi Longstocking Comprehension Question Packet for Chapters 1-6 are also due by Friday, March 31 if they did not finish in class.
