About Me

Welcome! My name is Dena Haight and this is my 20th year teaching 1st grade at GCS. I graduated from Endicott College in 2000 with a BA degree in Psychology/Education. I am CT State Certified in Elementary Education, K-Grade 6. 

 

GCS holds a special place in my heart. Not only do I love teaching here but I went to school here as a child. My oldest son, Sean, graduated GCS in 2020 and is now a freshman at Trumbull High School. Connor is in 5th grade at GCS. Both boys started here when they were 3 years old. It is truly an amazing experience to have them here with me. 

 

When I'm not busy in the classroom, you can find me on the ball field watching my boys play baseball. They have certainly turned me into a sports fan!!! I also really enjoy cooking family dinners, reading, and traveling with friends and family. We love to spend time together at the beach or pool.
