  • A study of each of the 7 Sacraments through the lens of Christ's life
 
 
8th Grade:
 
Unit 1: How did Christ's Church begin, grow, and develop?
  • Church History to the Protestant Reformation

 

Unit 2: How has the Church adapted to and continued to serve a changing world?

  • Church History from the Protestant Reformation to the present
 
Unit 3: What is the nature of the Church?
  • The four marks of the Church
  • Our role in the Church
  • The Church's relationship with God and the world
 
Unit 4: How are we called to live as examples of God's love and truth?
  • A study of Catholic moral teaching and its importance in the students' lives
 
In both 7th and 8th grades, the units of study will be enriched through an exploration of the rich heritage of Church traditions and modes of prayer, the lives of saints, and engagement with the Liturgical Year through study and activities that make the various important feasts and seasons of our faith a part of our class and school life.
