My name is Mrs. Maureen Valenti and this will be my fourth year at GCS. I have been working with students for over twenty years. I began my career working as a teacher's assistant in the special education field. From there, I worked in the elementary schools as an intern and as a long term substitute teacher for grades K-6. Ten years ago I obtained my Master's Degree from Sacred Heart University, at which time I also became a certified elementary classroom teacher for K-6 students. From 2006 to 2013 I was a second grade teacher in Bridgeport.
I am very passionate about teaching and am strengthened when I see my students learn, grow, and gain confidence. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, swimming, and walking at the park. I also love to vacation in Maine. I am actively involved with the SOUL ministry at my church where we promote the rosary, visit the home bound, and adore the Eucharist. I look forward to another productive and joy-filled year at GCS. I am a resident of Old Greenwich and have a wonderful husband named Robert.
