This will be my fifth year teaching middle school science at Greenwich Catholic School. Since 2004, I have taught in private, public and parochial schools in both New York and Connecticut. My undergraduate degree in psychology and communications is from Oberlin College, while my education coursework and masters degree is from Marist College. In addition, I have earned two endorsements from the State of Connecticut. One endorsement is Teacher-Leader for Elementary Science, and the other endorsement is for Middle School General Science. I am certified to teach in both Connecticut and New York.
After college and before my career in education started, I did other things. I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador. Later, I worked in the garment district of New York City as a technical writer and manager of computer design and manufacturing systems. While living in the City, I volunteered with OrigamiUSA as a board member and book editor. Origami has been a hobby of mine since I was a teenager, and I still enjoy doing it and incorporating it into teaching whenever possible.
