I believe learning takes place best in a positive, safe environment filled with laughter. In order to have effective learning in the classroom, it requires a collaboration between teacher, students, and parents that is grounded in mutual respect and trust. We work together as a family, and it is okay to make mistakes and learn from them. I want to teach my students in a way that has some straightforward instruction, but also gives them room to grow and expand on their own. I strive to help each student reach their learning potential by differentiating my instruction to meet each individual’s needs. Center based instruction, with technology, is incorporated and group work is instilled throughout the year. I encourage my students to work both independently and collaboratively. By valuing the Ten Commandments and viewing Jesus as a Teacher, we can set the grounds of a safe and caring environment each day.
