This committee, with the help of volunteers, helps to enhance the beauty of our school year round starting with the first day of school. The Beautification Committee decorates the front entrance to the school with a back-to-school theme welcoming our new and returning students and families. Over the course of the school year, they will continue to create a warm and welcoming environment with seasonal and holiday decorations.
The Book Fair Committee runs two Book Fairs throughout the year, in the fall and the spring. With the help of Scholastic Books, and potentially other sources, the committee offers age appropriate, best-selling books as well as puts together teacher wish lists and required reading lists. The Book Fair is open for four days to the entire GCS community.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
This committee counts all box tops turned in throughout the school year and turns them in for money back to GCS.
This committee organizes charitable drives to support various organizations in our community and communicates community service opportunities for our upper school students. Charitable drives include the Inspirica Women's Shelter, St. Raphael's School, Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home and the United States Military Troops deployed in various locations.
This committee works with the administration and plans enrichment programs for the students of GCS. Enrichment programs are designed for each grade level as well as the entire student body and are geared toward promoting the students' awareness of different cultures, their own health and safety, kindness and understanding among themselves, arts and sciences, and nature.
This committee is responsible for collecting faculty, parent and student information, formatting, editing, and publication of the annual School Directory. In addition, this committee creates online event and volunteer sign-ups, and monitors the online school store, which allows for the purchase of various entities including, but not limited to, Pizza Lunch, Spirit-Wear, and HSA Event Tickets.

This committee runs the Apple Program, which provides teachers with donated gifts throughout the school year. On a monthly basis, this committee, with the help of volunteers, puts together gift baskets which are handed out through a lottery amongst the teachers. In addition, this committee is in charge of putting together, with volunteers, 2 teacher luncheons during the year – one during Catholic Schools Week in late January/early February, and the other during Teacher Appreciation Week in early May. The committee also provides goodies each day for our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, as well as a gift for each teacher/staff.
The committee organizes both the library volunteer schedule for the library classes and the general volunteers for the Librarian. These volunteers assist the Librarian in stacking and examining books. When needed, they go online to find replacement books. They also assist with special projects, curriculum support, help teachers with research, support children during class time, and check books in and out.
The Marketing Committee provides creative and technical/ graphic arts expertise to compose materials that promote HSA events and initiatives.
This committee arranges workshops on timely parenting and family issues (internet safety, health and wellness, etc.) for parents and students.
This committee organizes pizza hot lunch service that the students enjoy on Wednesdays throughout the school year. Committee chairs are responsible for distributing and keeping track of student signup sheets, ordering pizza and ice cream for Wednesday’s Pizza days and organizing volunteers to help with the distribution and cleanup.
This committee puts together and publishes a weekly HSA newsletter (Previews) to keep all families informed of upcoming school events and programs.

This committee coordinates three family prayer nights, usually in October, January, and May encouraging spiritual growth and fellowship for all families of GCS. Also coordinates 1 or 2 Mother’s masses during the year.
The Spirit Wear Committee offers merchandise for purchase with Greenwich Catholic School name or logo. Items vary from year to year and timing/availability will be announced.
UNIFORM EXCHANGE/LOST AND FOUND
This committee coordinates the collection of gently used GCS uniform clothing throughout the year. Uniform Exchange is maintained in the designated closets in the cafeteria and parents are encouraged to drop off gently used outgrown items or to help themselves to items they may be in need of. In addition, this committee manages the collection of the Lost & Found items throughout the year contacting, when possible, the rightful owner for return. During teacher conference days, items are often set out in the lunchroom. Parents are encouraged to drop off gently used outgrown items or to help themselves to items they may be in need of. Unclaimed items at the end of the school year are usually donated to charity.
This committee, with the help of volunteers, welcomes new families to GCS. "Buddies" are assigned to new families over the summer months to assist with any questions and to help make new families and students feel welcome to our community. Additionally, the Welcome Committee hosts a New Parent Cocktail Party on the first Thursday after Labor Day. Invitees are the parents of new students, the HSA Board, the Advisory Board and the Administration.
