The Dougherty Center for Early Learning

The Dougherty Center for Early Learning at GCS is unique in many different ways. We see each child as an inventor, problem solvers, discoverer while motivating their natural curiosity. Our curriculum fosters all areas of a child’s development with small and large groups and balances small and large group learning, structured and independent activities, small and large motor play as well as quiet time. Our preschool children also take part in many of GCS’s enrichment classes such as gym, music, foreign language, art, and library. We use effective teaching approaches that are also developmentally, culturally and linguistically appropriate for young children. Teachers have open communication with parents and encourage parental involvement.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment that teaches age-appropriate activities for social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language development all under our loving faith of God. Our primary goal for children is to get along well with others and become enthusiastic learners. We want children to become independent, self-confident, curious learners.

Our program runs 5 days per week from 8:30 AM- 12 PM with the option to add extended days (until 2:30 PM) 1- 5 days per week.

Early arrival is available starting at 7:15 and after care is available until 5:30 PM.
