Arrival and Dismissal - Parking Lot Procedures 2020-21

Please click here to see a map detailing Arrival and Dismissal procedures in the parking lot. (Map is also available in menu at right.) If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Mascola (vmascola@gcsct.org)

Parking Lot Rules for the Safety of All:

Rule #1: Do NOT get out of your car: not to “quickly grab” your child, or to just say “hi” to your friend in line behind you. If your child needs help getting out of the car, or you need to talk to a teacher or another parent, you must park at the visitors parking lot and walk across to the front sidewalk.

Rule #2: If the line is moving, you should be moving. Be aware of what is going on around you. Don’t stop at a certain point to wait for your child. Once your child locates you, he or she will get into the car and then you may exit.

Rule #3: The rules of the car drop-off and pick-up lane apply to everyone, without exception.

On the opening day of school, parents are responsible to give written notification to their child’s teacher regarding their child’s PERMANENT PLAN for bus or car transportation at dismissal. No changes should be made, especially during the first few weeks of school, except for EMERGENCIES. It is imperative for safe dismissal that a routine is put into place. If your child is scheduled to use a bus, individual car, or carpool pick up, please be consistent in following this routine. If there is a change in your child’s dismissal procedure, a note must be given to the homeroom teacher, or in an emergency, a call must be made to the Main Office directly (no voicemail messages are to be left regarding a change in a student’s dismissal).
