GCS Academy Board of Directors to Host Listening Sessions on May 17th & May 18th

The newly appointed GCS Academy Board of Directors will host two listening sessions next week:

SESSION 1 - THURSDAY, MAY 17th @ 7:00pm - 8:30pm GCS Cafeteria

SESSION 2 - FRIDAY, MAY 18th @ 8:30am - 10:00am GCS Cafeteria
 
The purpose of these sessions is to provide an opportunity to meet the board members and committee chairs, share constructive feedback regarding areas of concern and identify key institutional priorities. Each session will open with an opportunity for Q&A and then attendees will be able to visit with committee chairs and board members in smaller groups. 
 
Parents and community members are encouraged to attend one or both sessions. 

Last month Bishop Frank J. Caggiano appointed the new Board of Directors for Greenwich Catholic School, which announced its transition to a new governance structure, known as an Academy model, in March. 

Under the new structure, the Diocese will reserve certain privileges, such as approval of the members of the Board of Directors, guardianship of the school’s Catholic mission, and ownership of the property.  The Board of Directors will monitor and evaluate the operation of the School and evaluate, approve, and revise as needed school policies and ensure the policies are implemented in accordance with GCS’s mission and the policies of the Diocese of Bridgeport.

The Board of Directors will assume their responsibilities for Greenwich Catholic School on July 1, 2018.
