Science 6

Course Description

Ok, most students brought in tri-fold boards.  A small few did not but must bring in ASAP!!
Science project Tri-fold boards and 1st trial experiment write-ups due Friday, December 15th

Ok, Parents, If you're seeing this, the most pressing matter for the kids is their Science Fair projects.  They're really behind and need your help catching up.  Here is basically what I want from them
1. A idea that interests them
2. An investigation of relevant literature, i.e., Internet articles of some sophistication that talk about liquids that stain teeth, why they stain, how they stain, etc.
3.  A hypothesis built upon the literature, e.g., Based on the literature we read, "We think that coffee stains teeth worse than Coke or tea" and can prove it through an experiment.
4. An experiment (replicate one that you find on-line that has already been done)
5. A practice run at an experiment with accompanying notes and a report about how it went, what needs to be rethought and redone, etc.
6.  A tri-fold board with all of the steps clearly attached.  There are plenty of examples in class and on-line.  Here, for example, three beakers each with a set of dentures stained by liquids would be a good display.  Imagine a parent walking up to your child's tri-fold board.  Would she/he find it interesting?  What questions would be asked?  What answers are provided?
